So I guess Affront started a lot like most other hardcore punk bands.
Bored Kids trying to have fun. It's the tired old story of a Swedish kid who
couldn't play drums, but just happened to have a kit, and his luring three
impressionable American teenagers into his basement to make an attempt at
creating some music.

Elliot rocks out at a show!
Since that first practice way back in October of 1997,
Affront has been writing songs, playing shows, and putting out 7 inches.
The cast in '97 was Andreas as the drummer, Elliot as the guitarist, Peter
as the singer, and Scott as the bassist. This lineup managed to put out one
DIY 7" and play a handful of shows before Andreas was forced to return to
Sweden.
This was actually a blessing in disguise for the remaining members
of Affront, who were immediately able to procure the services of drummer
extraordinaire and good friend, Joe. Up until the arrival of Joe a lot of
Affront's songs were tongue in cheek, but after Joe joined in July of '98,
Affront started to take them selves more serious and was able to expand
their repertoire with more intricate hardcore songs with the occasional
melody. (To download an MP3 click here.)

AFFRONT's new line up!
At the end of the summer of 1998, Affront took some time off to
start school and concentrate on their studies (except for the occasional
recording break). But after their interlude, Affront returned to DC. The
boys became most productive over the summer, playing several shows around
the DC area, putting out the "Fallen Stars" EP on Phyte Records, and going
on their first tour, with Good Clean Fun.

AFFRONT and GOOD CLEAN FUN
Now all of Affront has moved to
Boston to go to school, work on new material and play shows during the
school year (planning on a US tour this summer). These days they concentrate
more than ever on the band, and have no plans on retiring anytime soon. As
of now, Affront is Peter, Elliot, Joe and Scott.
